Nerve Pain ( Neuropathic Pain ) Treatment in Hyderabad

Neuropathic pain, also known as nerve pain, arises from nerve damage, injury, or dysfunction caused by various factors such as trauma, surgery, diseases, or chemotherapy. This type of pain is characterized by sensations of burning, intense pain, coldness, or electric shocks, often accompanied by tingling, pins and needles, numbness, or itching. Neuropathic pain can manifest as a primary symptom of certain conditions like complex regional pain syndrome, multiple sclerosis, or postherpetic neuralgia. It can also be associated with other medical conditions or different types of pain, including pelvic pain and fibromyalgia. Another example of neuropathic pain is phantom pain experienced after limb amputation. If left untreated, neuropathic pain can significantly impair a person’s ability to function.

On the other hand, neuralgia refers to a sharp, burning, and frequently severe pain caused by irritation or damage to a nerve. This nerve can be located anywhere in the body, and the damage can be attributed to various factors, such as the natural aging process or conditions like diabetes or multiple sclerosis.
